Harlan closed play in the Best of the Lakes Holiday Classic at Clinton County High School with two games Saturday, a 65-60 win over McCreary Central in the morning followed by a 74-48 loss to Livingston Academy, Tenn., later in the day.

Senior guard Payeton Charles scored 23 points to lead the 4-10 Lady Dragons against McCreary. Junior forward Natalee King added 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Junior guard Allyson Anderson poured in 33 points to lead McCreary Central.

Harlan took control of the game by outscoring McCreary 29-14 in the second quarter, building a 45-25 halftime lead. McCreary outscored the Lady Dragons 24-8 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to four points.

Anna Beth Colson scored 20 points and Hannah Hammons added 10 to lead Livingston Academy.

Charles scored 19 and King contributed 15 for the 4-11 Lady Dragons.

Harlan fell to Clinton County, the tournament host, 57-53 on Friday.

Sophomore forward Braylee Mann led Clinton County with 23 points.

King scored 24 to lead the Lady Dragons. Charles added 10.

Harlan returns to action Thursday at home against Whitley County.
