Lester, Daniels power Trojans in comeback win

James A. Cawood overcame an early 17-4 deficit to rally for a 38-37 win over visiting Wallins in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Thursday.

Cameron Lester scored 16 points and Nathan Daniels added 13 for the Trojans.

Daniel Carmical poured in 21 points for the Devils.

Lane Grubbs scored 23 and Tucker Hatmaker added 17 as Wallins won 56-37 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Jamies McMillian led JACES with 25 points. Landon Brock scored 12.

Wallins returns to action Monday at home against Rosspoint. James A. Cawood travels to Evarts on Thursday.

Gist leads Redskins to win over Falcons

Jaedyn Gist scored 10 points to lead Cumberland past visiting Green Hills 43-21 on Thursday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Andrew Hensley paced Green Hills with 12 points.

Hunter Cornett scored eight points to lead the Redskins to a 35-12 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Keithan Shepherd led the Falconswith 10 points.

Cumberland won 9-0 in a fourth-grade game. Chris Raleigh scored four points, while DaShaun Smith contributed three and Sedrick Washington chipped in with two.

The Redskins return to action Tuesday at Wallins. Green Hills plays host to James A. Cawood on Monday.

Carmical, Griffin power Devils to win over Evarts

Daniel Carmical scored 14 points and Tanner Griffin added nine as Wallins defeated visiting Evarts 47-39 on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Tindell scored 15 points and Ward added 12 to lead the Wildcats.

Lane Grubbs poured in 20 points as Wallins won 38-36 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Matt Long and Dion Brown each scored 10 for Evarts.

Wallins edged Green Hills 19-17 in previously unreported action as Grubbs led the Devils with 11 points.

Keithan Shepherd scored 16 for the Falcons.

Ryley Mefford led Black Mountain with five points.

Reggie Cottrell scored 16 to lead Black Mountain to a 27-24 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Keithan Shepherd led Green Hills with 16 points.

Black Mountain returns to action Tuesday at Rosspoint. Green Hills travels to Cumberland on Thursday.

Swanner, Gist lead Skins to a victory over Comets

Led by 16 points from Jonah Swanner and 15 from Jaedyn Gist, Cumberland won 45-41 on Tuesday at Cawood in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Adam Boggs led Cawood with 19 points.

Ethan Rhymer scored 26 points and Jared Rhymer added 13 as Cawood rolled past Cumberland 44-18 in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.

Tyler Lunsford led the Redskins with six points.

Cumberland defeated Harlan County Christian School 37-9 in a fifth-grade game and 12-9 in a fourth-grade game.
