Mulkey leads Tigerettes as they edge Green Hills

Emma Mulkey poured in 14 points as Black Mountain held off visiting Green Hills 36-32 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Serenity Whitehead scored 14 points and Lily Cabellero added 12 for the Lady Falcons.

Black Mountain avenged an earlier loss in fifth- and sixth-grade action with a 38-12 win. The Tigerettes were led by Hannah Kirby with 16 points and Shaylea Lewis with 14.

Alisha Middleton led Green Hills with 10 points.

Black Mountain returns to action Tuesday at home against Wallins. Green Hills closes its regular season schedule on Monday at home against Rosspoint.

Smith, Cloud lead Evarts to victory over Rosspoint

Jaylin Smith scored 14 points and Aliyah Cloud added 12 as Evarts improved to 15-0 with a 44-10 win at Rosspoint in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Evarts won 25-11 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Ashley Preston scored nine to lead the Lady Cats.

Rosspoint travels to Green Hills on Monday. Evarts will be at home Tuesday against James A. Cawood.

Lauren Smith scored 17 points as Cawood claimed a 30-21 win over visiting Wallins in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Taytum Griffin led Wallins with 16 points.

Cawood improved to 16-0 overall and 12-0 in county fifth- and sixth-grade action with a 31-2 victory..

Kylie Noe scored 15 points to lead the Lady Comets.

Cawood returns to action Tuesday at Rosspoint. Wallins plays at James A. Cawood on Thursday.

Led by an 18-point effort from Taytum Griffin, Wallins edged visiting Cumberland 19-18 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Monday.

Josalyn Lee led the Lady Skins with eight points.

Faith Caldwell scored five to lead Wallins to an 11-10 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

The two teams played to a 4-4 tie in the fourth-grade game.

Rosspoint defeated Wallins 30-8 in previously unreported seventh- and eighth-grade action.

Wallins won 19-18 in the fifth- and sixth grade game. There was an 8-8 tie in the fourth-grade game.
