New Harlan claims win over Knox

Led by a double from Ethan Griffith and singles by Colby Johnson and Caleb Brewer, New Harlan claimed a 7-4 win over Knox Central in middle school baseball Thursday.

Isaac Kelly, Samuel Henson, Daven Johnson and Coby Turner shared mound duty for the Patriots.

Maggard leads New Harlan past South

Rylie Maggard pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and three walks as New Harlan defeated South Laurel 8-5 in middle school softball action.

Abbi Fields led the Lady Patriots on offense with a triple. Erica caldwell and Maggard had singles.

Baker and Laster had hits for South. Laster struck out seven and walked five while giving up eight runs.

Green Dragons fall to Middlesboro

Harlan fell 18-11 to Middlesboro in middle school baseball action.

Jared Moore, Donovan Montanaro and Nate Montanaro led the Dragons with two singles each. Will Cassim and Aiden Johnson added one single each. Donovan Montanaro drove in three runs. Nate Montanaro scored two runs.

Tristan West struck out one and walked seven in three innings on the mound. Moors struck out two and walked two in three innings.
