Griffin scores 19 as Devils claim a win over Cawood

Tanner Griffin scored 19 points and Daniel Carmical added 10 as Wallins defeated visiting Cawood 51-27 on Monday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Dylan Hicks led Cawood with 15 points.

Ethan Simpson scored 15 as Wallins won 38-17 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Ethan Shular and Noah Allen each scored four to pace the Comets.

Wallins plays at Green Hills on Thursday. Cawood plays at Rosspoint on Thursday.

Balanced attack carries Cats past Black Mountain

Four Wildcats scored in double figures as Evarts rolled to a 52-22 win Tuesday at Black Mountain in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Chase Sizemore led the Wildcats with 15 points and was followed by Chuckie Blackshire with 12 and Jayden Burkhart and Dion Brown with 10 each.

Zack Burgan and Riley Mefford scored eight each for Black Mountain.

Bryan Howard led a balanced Rosspoint attack with seven points as the Wildcats defeated visiting Green Hills 43-13 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Garrison Huff paced the Falcons with five points.

Rosspoint won 50-9 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Kayden Hensley led the Wildcats with 11 points.

Gunnar Johnson scored 13 as Rosspoint won 14-10 in a fourth-grade game.

Dalton Halcomb and Brayden Hodge scored four each for Green Hills.

Lester powers Trojans in win over Cumberland

Cameron Lester scored 12 points to lead James A. Cawood in a 40-18 win Tuesday over visiting Cumberland in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Jonah Swanner led Cumberland with nine points.

Jaycee Carter scored 14 points and Kaden Jones added 10 as James A. Cawood rolled to a 31-13 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Sedrick Washington led the Redskins with six points.

Nathan Daniels scored 19 and Jeremiah Clem added 11 as JACES won 38-25 last week at Middlesboro.

Carter poured in 15 points as the Trojans won 26-24 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Cumberland travels to Evarts on Thursday. James A. Cawood will be at home against Black Mountain on Thursday.
