Comeback falls short as Jackets edge Harlan

Jackson Huff and Maddox Huff teamed to hit nine 3-point shots, but Harlan falls in a heartbreaker to visiting Middlesboro 50-49 on Friday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Harlan (4-4) trailed late in the third quarter by six when Maddox Huff, a fifth-grader, hit four consecutive 3-point shots to give Harlan a slim lead before Middlesboro rallied to win.

Jackson Huff led the Green Dragons with 21 points and nine Rebounds.

J.T. West led Middlesboro with 15 points.

Harlan (8-0) remained perfect in fifth- and sixth-grade action with a 45-33 win.

Trent Noah led the Dragons with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Maddox Huff added 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.
