A ceremonial groundbreaking took place recently in front of Wallins Elementary School, with students helping kick off the $6.593 million addition, which includes 11 classrooms and an office suite with administrative and counselor’s office, nurse’s office and FRYSC. Completion of the project is estimated to be late December, with demolition of the current structure by April 12, 2021. The following students represented their grade by turning the soil for a fresh, new journey: Madelyn Craig (kindergarten), Kayden Sumpter (first grade), Luke Carmical (second grade), Jack Eld (third grade), Gracelynn Johnson (fourth grade), Ethan Maggard (fifth grade), Kimberly Blanton (sixth grade), Keaton Simpson (seventh grade) and Olivia Peterson (eighth grade).
