Craig leads Cumberland to win over Green Dragons

Aiden Craig scored two touchdowns and added a two-point conversion as Cumberland broke a four-game losing streak in seventh- and eighth-grade football action with a 36-20 win Tuesday over visiting Harlan.

Quarterback Shawn Carroll added a touchdown and a pair of two-point conversions. Darius Akal and Cameron Anderson contributed one touchdown each.

No scoring information was submitted for Harlan.

Harlan (3-5) will play Williamsburg on Saturday at the University of the Cumberlands. Cumberland (2-4) will play at Letcher Central on Sept. 12.

Harlan (3-3) extended its win streak to three with a 36-20 victory in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Will Shepherd scored three touchdowns to lead the Dragons. Gage Bailey added one touchdown. Bailey and Shepherd each ran for a two-point conversion.

Sedrick Washington scored the touchdown for Cumberland (0-5).

Cumberland dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Jenkins on Aug. 27, falling 20-0 in fifth- and sixth-grade action and 32-22 in the seventh- and eighth-grade game.

Evarts fell 22-6 to Letcher Central in fifth- and sixth-grade football action. Dylan Lambert scored the Wildcats’ touchdown on a 2-yard run.
