Kelly, Jordan lead Rosspoint past Skins

Isaac Kelly scored 15 points and Thomas Jordan added 12 as Rosspoint won 34-25 on Tuesday at Cumberland in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Jonah Swanner led Cumberland with 13 points.

Cooper McHargue and Kelly each scored eight in a 47-22 win Monday over Black Mountain.

Zack Burgan led Black Mountain with 16 points.

Brody Napier led Rosspoint to a 41-7 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action as he scored 14 points.

Rosspoint defeated Black Mountain as Napier scored 12 points.

Reggie Cottrell led the Tigers with 15 points.

Hicks, Noe lead Cawood past Tigers

Led by 16 points each from Dylan Hicks and Daniel Noe, Cawood defeated visiting Black Mountain 48-32 on Thursday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action to close the regular season.

Ryley Mefford led Black Mountain with 18 points.

Reggie Cottrell scored 25 points to lead Black Mountain in a 41-31 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Adam Grubbs led Cawood with 12 points.

Balanced attack carries Devils to victory

Eleven Purple Devils reached the scoring column as Walllins rolled to a 41-11 win Tuesday at Black Mountain in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Tanner Griffin and Daniel Carmical scored eight each to lead the 14-4 Devils.

Gabe O’Rourke led Black Mountain with 11 points.

Wallins won 52-42 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Ethan Simpson and Trenton Cole scored 14 each for the 15-5 Devils. Connor Daniels and Evan Simpson added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Reggie Cottrell poured in 25 points to lead the Tigers.

Trojans close perfect season in county

James A. Cawood closed a perfect regular season against county competition with a 41-18 win over visiting Cawood on Tuesday.

Nathan Daniels scored nine to lead the Trojans, who improved to 18-3 overall and 14-0 in county competition. Gavon Spurlock added eight points.

Dylan Hicks led Cawood (3-10) with nine points.

The Trojans won 37-8 in previously unreported action from Jan. 22 against Green Hills. Jeremiah Clem led the Trojans with 11 points.

Jaycee Carter poured in 16 points as JACES (10-8 overall, 7-5 county) downs Cawood 26-16 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
