Members of the VFW Auxiliary representing post 5171 and post 11139 stopped by the Kentucky Coal Museum in Benham presenting a citation to Phyllis Sizemore, a resident of Wallins and the curator at the museum. She has made at least 100 flower arrangements, if not more, for residents in nursing homes in Harlan, Bell and Perry counties and beyond throughout the year. Pictured are, from left: Barbara Smith, Deb Burke, Phyllis Sizemore and Paula Huff.

Members from VFW Auxiliaries 5171, 11129 and 7387 combined to deliver gifts to the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. Sizemore’s arrangements and books donated by Olan (WWII veteran) and Wanda Henry, of Cumberland, along with patriotic lapel pins were given to veterans individually.
