Kentucky Farm Bureau youth contest

Showcasing youth from across Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky Farm Bureau held their annual Outstanding Youth and Variety contest in Hazard. Eleven counties participated in the event. Winning runner-up in the variety contest was Harlan High School junior Jarrett McKenzie. McKenzie is the son of Marty and Wendy Helton of Evarts. Also competing in the female outstanding young contest was Harlan County High School senior Kiersten Callahan, daughter of Amanda and Timothy Callahan of Bledsoe. Tate Bryson, Harlan High School junior also competed in the male outstanding young contest. Bryson is the son of Stephen and Tara Bryson of Harlan. Both Callahan and Bryson were presented awards for their participation in the event.
