Huff leads Green Dragons in a victory over Red Bird
Led by a 19-point, 21-rebound effort from Jackson Huff, Harlan (1-2) claimed its first win of the season with a 53-39 victory Monday at Red Bird.
David Collett paced Red Bird with 26 points.
Harlan (3-0) jumped out to a 24-2 lead after one quarter in the fifth- and sixth-grade game on the way to a 38-17 victory. Maddox Huff led Harlan with 10 points. Will Cassim and Trent Noah added nine and seven points, respectively.
Harlan was unable to overcome foul trouble and poor shooting in a 39-31 loss to visiting Pineville in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Jackson Huff led the Dragons with 10 points.
Trent Noah poured in 17 points and Will Cassim added 10 points and 10 rebounds as Harlan (2-0) won 44-29 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Green Dragons open year with a loss at Middlesboro
Despite a 16-point, 10-rebound effort from Jackson Huff, Harlan fell 36-32 at Middlesboro last week in the season opener for the seventh- and eighth-grade Dragons.
The Dragons won 35-29 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Maddox Huff scored 19 points and Trent Noah added nine.
