White Christmas makes for slick road conditions

While Christmas Eve and Christmas Day looked like a winter wonderland throughout Harlan County and the rest of the region, road crews worked diligently to scrape snow from the roads and use salt to try and melt the underlying ice. The county charted 6 to 8 inches of snow in lower regions, while mountainous areas like Bigelow and Black Mountain saw upwards of 13 inches or more.
