Harlan County Chamber of Commerce announces winners to be awarded at annual gala on Oct. 24

The Harlan County Chamber of Commerce has announced its annual award winners that will receive recognition at its annual Gala on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Harlan Center.

The gala will also feature a huge silent auction, guest speaker and a delicious dinner. Neil Middleton, vice president and general manager of WYMT, will be the featured speaker.

At the gala, AirEvac Lifeteam will be awarded 2019 Business of the Year by the Harlan County Chamber of Commerce. AirEvac Lifeteam has served the county for 10 years and saved numerous lives with their quick acting and professional team.

Frost Tech Services will receive New Business of the Year and #withlovefromHarlan will be awarded Non-profit of the Year.

The Chamber named community leader Joyce Cheng 2019 Harlan Countian of the Year. According to Chamber President Geoff Marietta, “The Gala is always a great event where we celebrate businesses from across Harlan County. We’ll have a terrific silent auction and a great awards show.”

Community Development Award: Harlan County Community Action Agency

Excellence in Customer Service Award: Erica Farmer-Miller, SKCTC

Harlan Countian of the Year: Joyce Cheng

Healthcare Provider of the Year: Julie Jackson, APRN

New Business of the Year: Frost Tech Services

Non-profit of the Year: #withlovefromHarlan

Lawson-Hoskins Dedication Award: Brandon Pennington

Tickets are $35 for individuals, $65 for couples and $200 for a table of six. They can be purchased on the chamber’s website or from Home Federal Bank, Kentucky Farm Bureau or from Flora Asher, Anne Hensley or Sarah Hobbs at Harlan ARH.
