Creech’s 1-hitter sends Yankees to victory

Alex Creech pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and two walks as the Marshall Auto Group Yankees avenged an earlier loss with a 12-2 victory Tuesday over the Benham Lodge Dodgers in Tri-City Little League action.

Brayden Casolari led the Yankees’ offense with a triple, double and two singles. Aiden Craig added a double and single Creech had a double. Peyton Jackson, Zayden Casolari, Sedrick Washington, Cruz Galloway and Braxton Bowen added one single each.

D.J. Williamson singled for the Dodgers’ only hit. Kaden Boggs, Christian Teaster and Elijah Creech shared mound duty.

Kelly powers Patriots past Generals

Isaac Kelly led New Harlan to a 17-14 win over Lee, Va., in middle school baseball action as he collected two triples and a double.

Colby Johnson and Carter Howard added two singles each for the Patriots. Samuel Henson had a triple. Caleb Brewer and Thomas Jordan added one single each.

Jordan gave up four runs in one inning on the mound. Colby Johnson allowed six runs in three innings, with six strikeouts. Daven Johnson allowed four runs in one inning.

Maggard leads New Harlan to two wins

Rylie Maggard pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and six walks and also pounded out a triple and single as New Harlan edged Middlesboro 13-11 in middle school softball action Monday.

Abbi Fields added three singles for New Harlan. Hailey Austin had two singles. Ashton Evans added one single.

Brock led Middlesboro with two singles. Lawson, Jackson and Adkins added one single each.

Maggard pitched a one-hitter with one strikeouts and two walks in New Harlan’s 16-1 win over Bell County on Thursday.

Fields led New Harlan on offense with a triple. Austin and Aaliyah Lewis added singles.

Burnett had the only hit for Bell County and pitched a complete game.

Dragons fall to Pineville in middle school baseball

Harlan fell 6-2 to Pineville on Thursday in middle school baseball action.

Donovan Montanaro led the Dragons with a triple and single. Jared Moore drove in both Harlan runs with a single. Nate Montanaro added one single.

Moore pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and three walks.
