Lady Cats finish regular season with perfect mark

Evarts completed an undefeated regular season with a 32-12 win Tuesday over visiting James A. Cawood.

Jaylin Smith scored 15 points to lead the Lady Cats, who improved to 16-0 overall and 14-0 against county competition.

The Trojanettds won 30-19 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game as guards Ella Karst and Kylie Jones each scored 10 points.

Cary Madden led Evarts with seven points.

James A. Cawood won 6-2 in the fourth-grade game.

The Trojanettes close their regular season schedule Thursday at Cumberland.

Austin leads Lady Cats to victory over Cawood

Led by nine points from Hailey Austin, Rosspoint defeated visiting Cawood 23-16 on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.

Courtney Simpson led Cawood with eight points.

Kylie Noe scored 13 points as Cawood (17-0) won 38-10 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Cawood closes the regular season Thursday at Wallins. Rosspoint plays host to Black Mountain on Thursday.

County tournament opening Saturday at James A. Cawood

The county fifth- and sixth-grade tournament will open Saturday at James A. Cawood Elementary School with four first-round games. The schedule includes: 10 a.m. — Cawood vs Green Hills; 11:30 a.m. — Wallins vs Rosspoint; 1 p.m. — Evarts vs Cumberland; 2:30 p.m. — James A. Cawood vs Black Mountain.
