James Matt Mosley, 82, of Rosspoint, peacefully entered his heavenly home Thursday morning Oct. 21, 2021.

He was a retired coal miner with Bow Valley/Great Western Coal Company and believed in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, drinking thousands of cups of coffee through the years with his friends at Dairy Queen, and playing golf, particularly in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Brenda Mosley, parents Bradley and Nora Middleton Mosley, brothers J.B., Tim, and Billy, sister Jessie, and a special brother-in-law Sam Duncan.

He is survived by his children, Debbie (Guy) Sergent of Rosspoint, Daniel (Myra) Mosley of Rosspoint, and Mike (Rhonda) Mosley of Jonesville Virginia, brother Joe (Freda) Mosley Rosspoint, several grandchildren, Dan (Stephanie) Mosley, Baxter, Megan Mosley (Tyler), Fresh Meadows, Kayla Mosley, Jonesville Virginia, Brooke (Ryan) Clem, Rosspoint, Gage (Brooke) Mosley, Richmond, Erica (Shane) Faerber, Lexington, Ryan Sergent & Fiancé Breezy Epperson, Morehead. James is survived by Great Grandchildren, Sebastian Mosley, Mason and Grayson Mosley, and Blake and Jo Blevins.

James leaves behind a host of other family and friends including special friends, David Witt, Arlie Hall, and Gary Hackler who James often said were his best friends in the world.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00p.m. at Harlan Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Travis Moore officiating.

Graveside services will be private.

Due to COVID-19, the family requests those who attend wear a face covering.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice, 2792 S. U.S. Hwy. 25 E, Barbourville, Ky. 40906, in memory of James.
