Missing juvenile located in Virginia

On Tuesday, April 6, at approximately 11:27 p.m., the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office received information pertaining to a missing 15-year-old juvenile from the Evarts area.  It was reported that the juvenile was last seen in the Lejunior area at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, April 5.

Through further investigation, it was discovered that the juvenile may have left in a 2009 Nissan Rogue with two adult males.  The sheriff’s office was able to obtain cell phone information for the individuals and conducted a “ping” to determine the location of the individuals.  It was determined that the juvenile was possibly located in Alleghany County, Virginia.

The sheriff’s office contacted Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police and requested assistance in locating the missing juvenile and the two adults at a location in Alleghany County, Virginia.

The vehicle was located by Virginia State Police and the two males fled from officers.

After a pursuit, Hubert Hall, 36, and Bert Alonzo Saylor, 47, were arrested and charged with abduction, fleeing/evading police and weapons violations.

The juvenile has been returned safely to family.

The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and Virginia State Police.
