Harlan falls at All ‘A’ State Tournament

Lexington Christian outscored the visiting Harlan Dragons 22-10 in the fourth quarter on Thursday in the opening round of the All “A” Classic State Tournament, winning 61-48.
LCA held a 39-38 advantage after three quarters before putting the game away in the final period.
Tanner Walton scored eight points and Anderson Green had seven for the Eagles in the last quarter.
Walton, a junior guard, powered LCA with 21 points. Green, a sophomore guard, tossed in 12 points. Jeffrey Selby and Tyler Hall scored 10 each.
The 9-7 Eagles will advance to host Pikeville in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The Green Dragons were led by junior guard Jordan Akal with 18 points. He was held to three points in the first half. Jaedyn Gist scored 12 points for Harlan.
Walton scored six points as LCA took a 18-13 lead after one quarter.
The Dragons cut the deficit to 30-28 at halftime and trailed by one entering the final period.
HHS made the state tourney by defeating Pineville (63-50), Lynn Camp (66-61) and Barbourville (59-58) in the 13th Region All “A” Tournament.
Harlan, now 10-5 on the season, looks to break a three-game losing streak tonight at Pineville (6-6).
The Green Dragons will host Clay County on Tuesday before traveling to Leslie County on Saturday.
