Harlan County High School Project Lead the Way students participated in the University of Kentucky College of Engineering E-Day recently.

The event is a celebration “of everything engineering has to offer. From building bridges to discovering new medications to writing the software that powers cell phones, engineers and computer scientists do the things that make our 21st-century world work.”

Lindsey Rich, PLTW instructor, said students enjoyed the event and learned about the many fields of study for engineering.

The college offers nine undergraduate degrees: bio-systems engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering and mining engineering.

It also offers masters and doctoral degrees in biomedical engineering, bio-systems engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering and mining engineering.

A masters degree in manufacturing systems engineering is available online.
