Harlan County extended its win streak to four with a 65-28 rout of Red Bird on Thursday. Senior forward Morgan Blakley scored 22 points and junior guard Kelly Beth Hoskins added 11 for the visiting Lady Bears.

Alyssa Gibson, a sophomore guard, led the Lady Cards with 17 points.

Hoskins hit a pair of 3-pointers and Blakley had a three-point play as HCHS raced to a 16-7 lead after one quarter. Blakley scored 11 points in the second period as the Harlan County lead grew to 40-18 by halftime.

The Lady Bears outscored Red Bird 19-6 in the third quarter, led by six points from Blakley and five from Hoskins. Jaylin Preston, Taylor Lunsford and Paige Phillips had baskets in the fourth quarter as the HCHS reserves closed the game.

Harlan County (7-3) will play host to Knott Central on Friday. Red Bird (4-9) will meet Jackson County on Tuesday in the 13th Region All “A” Classic at Pineville.

Seventh-grade guard Kylie Noe scored 14 points to lead Harlan County in 49-11 win in junior varsity action. Taytum Griffin added 10 points. Scarlett Rowe scored seven, followed by Taylor Lunsford with six, Izzy Kirby with five, Paige Phillips with three and Hailey Austin and Jenna Wilson with two each.

Emily Caldwell and Haley Short led Red Bird with three points each.
