Dragons fall in semifinals

Harlan split two games in the Cumberland Valley All “A” Classic on Saturday, defeating Barbourville 34-28 before falling 44-34 to Pineville in the semifinals. Pineville went on to defeat Middlesboro in the tourney finals.

Maddox Huff and Nate Montanaro each scored 13 in Harlan’s 34-28 win over Barbourville.

Huff led Harlan with 16 points in a 44-34 loss to Pineville.

The Dragons return to action on Tuesday against Black Mountain.

Delaneys lead Trojans to win

Terry Delaney scored 17 points and Colton Delaney added 11 as James A. Cawood improved 9-3 overall with a 49-29 win over Green Hills in fifth – and sixth-grade basketball action.

Ethan Huff led the Falcons with 19 points.
