The Harlan County Black Bears will battle Letcher County in the 2019 Coal Bowl on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Coal Miners Memorial Stadium. The Coal Bowl Queen will be announced at halftime of the game.
Parking changes for this and future games has been announced by Principal Kathy Minor and Athletic Director Eugene Farmer.
Spectators will enter the school grounds through the gate at the main entrance to campus — not the baseball field.
General parking vehicles will turn right after entering the gate, heading toward the student parking lot.
All vehicles dropping off spectators will be allowed to enter the main entrance parking lot, stopping at the steps to the lower parking lot to allow those to exit their vehicles.
VIP and handicapped parking will enter the main gate and turn left toward the gymnasium and green house. All of these vehicles should have a VIP parking pass properly displayed in their vehicle. Only those vehicles with displayed parking passes will be allowed to turn left after entering the gate.
There are 25 handicapped parking spots available across the bridge by the stadium. Once those spots are filled, properly marked vehicles can either use the drop off location at the main front lot or park in the general parking (student lot). Those needing it will be provided transportation by the school across the bridge to the stadium area.
Without a parking pass, you will not be allowed to take your vehicle across the bridge.
Senior citizen and other passes do not include parking. If you have not been given a parking pass, you may still be on the pass list for the tickets but not for parking.
