Cumberland shooting results in two arrested, one airlifted

On Monday at 9:18 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 10 received a “shots fired” complaint in Cumberland. Troopers responded and upon their arrival, it was determined a fight had occurred between a boyfriend and girlfriend.
Daniel Bauer, 49, of Ohio, had been shot in the face. Bauer was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center in Tenn. with none life-threatening injuries.
Stephanie Brock, 46, was charged with first-degree assault and Kevin Brock, 24, was charged with tampering with physical evidence. Both were lodged in Harlan County Detention Center.
The case is still under investigation by KSP trooper Andy Soltess.
Trooper Jake Middleton, detective Rodney Sturgill, detective Jake Wilson, Cumberland Police Department Sgt. Tyler Hensley, Marion Stewart, Harlan County Sheriff’s Department deputies Cody Bargo and Austin Reynolds and Lifeguard Ambulance Service also assisted.
