Dragons rally for win at Lynn Camp

Harlan broke through for its first win of the season in dramatic fashion Tuesday, scoring in the final minute for a 14-12 victory at Lynn Camp in fifth- and sixth-grade football action.

Isaiah Cornett-King gave Harlan an early lead with a 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Dragons maintained a 6-0 halftime lead before Lynn Camp scored twice in the third quarter to go on top. King went in from the 25 to tie the game, then Gage Bailey added the two-point conversion to win the game.

Harlan (1-3) will play at Cumberland on Sept. 3.

No information has been submitted as of press time on the seventh- and eighth-grade game.

Clem leads Cawood past Lady Skins

Taylor Clem scored 18 points to lead Cawood to a 26-23 win at Cumberland on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball

Kylie Meyers led Cumberland with seven points.

Cawood raced to a 28-1 lead in the first half on the way to a 32-7 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Cumberland plays host to Rosspoint on Monday. Cawood is at home against Green Hills on Monday.

Karst leads Harlan over Barbourville

Ella Karst scored 21 points to lead Harlan past Barbourville 55-36 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday. Aymanni Wynn and Faith Hoskins added 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Peyshaunce Wynn scored five points as Harlan won 17-13 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Harlan (5-3) will play host to Pineville on Thursday.

Preston scores 21 in Lady Cats’ win

Seventh-grade guard Ashley Preston poured in 21 points as Evarts defeated visiting Black Mountain 39-12 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Chelsey Cottrell led Black Mountain with six points.

Tori Robinson poured in 18 points as Evarts won 32-14 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Maddie Bennett paced the Lady Tigers with eight points.

Black Mountain won 14-4 in a fourth-grade game.

Evarts returns to action Monday at home against Wallins.
