<p>John Henson | Harlan Enterprise</p> <p>Middle school football teams from New Harlan, Cumberland, Evarts and Letcher Central participated in the Thunder in the Mountains bowl on Saturday at Coal Miners Memorial Stadium. The teams participated in several 10-play series, taking turns on offense and defense. Cumberland running back Cameron Anderson (above) broke free around end against New Harlan. Caleb Johnson, a running back for New Harlan, raced down the field against Letcher Central. The regular season begins this week for teams in the county school district as Cumberland plays host to Letcher Central on Tuesday in a doubleheader and New Harlan plays Evarts in fifth- and sixth-grade action.</p>
