Cawood Elementary School student Jasmine Caldwell was selected as the Harlan County winner in the 2018-2019 grandparent of the Year essay contest, sponsored by AARP Kentucky and the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. As the county winner, Jasmine received a framed certificate and $25 from the Harlan Area Retired Teachers Association. Jasmine is pictured with her grandmother, Melissa Caldwell.
