William Trey Farley, a senior at Harlan County High School, is the Monticello Banking Company Student Citizen Award recipient for April. Here, MBC Personal Banker II Kevin Cavins presents a $100 honorarium and the award to Farley. Monticello Banking Company is dedicated to this recognition program to honor outstanding students in the Harlan County and Harlan Independent school districts. Faculty and administrators from each district nominate students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership, sports and community participation. The son of Frank and Tina Farley, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Educational Talent Search and the drama club. He will play the guitar in the Morehead State University school ensemble where he plans to attend to pursue a pre-pharmacy degree.

Austin Gilreath, a senior at Harlan High School, is the Monticello Banking Company’s Student Citizen Award Recipient for April. Monticello Banking Company is dedicated to this recognition program to honor outstanding students in the Harlan County and Harlan Independent school districts. Faculty and administrators from each district nominate students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership, sports and community participation. The son of Chris and Amanda Gilreath, he is a member of the Beta Club, football team and track team. Austin has compiled more than 60 hours of community service through his Beta Club participation. He is undecided on his college and career choice but is considering animation and game design.
