Bears, Dragons end season with losses

A seventh-inning rally fell short as Harlan County lost 6-4 Wednesday at Perry Central to close the regular season.
Harlan County trailed the entire game but scored two runs in the seventh inning to get within two runs.
Tyler Casolari, a junior catcher, led the Bears at the plate with three singles. Justin Brown and Quinton Boggs added two singles each. Zac Collett and Matthew Simpson each had one single.
Brayden Blakley pitched four innings for the Bears, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits with one strikeout and five walks. Jon Wilder pitched two shutout innings with no strikeouts and no walks.
Harlan County will play Bell County on Monday at Bell in the first round of the 52nd District Tournament.

Sydney Bowen pitched a complete game and limited visiting Harlan to two earned runs as Williamsburg closed the regular season with a 14-4 win on Friday.
Bowen, an eighth-grader, struck out five and walked two while scattering seven hits.
Cameron Bowen, a senior shortstop, led the 12-11 Jackets with a triple and single.
Jeremiah Mills led the Dragons with a triple and single. KIlian Ledford added two singles. Michael Robinson, Jared Hawkins and Shane Lindsey contribute one single each.
Browning suffered the loss as he gave up nine runs (five earned) on five hits, with two strikeouts and three walks. Robinson allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits in 1 1/3 innings. Shane Lindsey allowed two hits and one walk.
Harlan will play Middlesboro on Monday in the 52nd District Tournament at Bell County.
