Three facing charges for stolen property

Three individuals are facing charges, including receiving stolen property, after reported stolen items were allegedly found to be in their possession by police.

Glessie Gilbert, 30, of Baxter, Jeffery Irvin, 32, of Loyall, and Dylan Turner, 21, of Wallins, were arrested by Loyall Police Department officers on April 25.

According to the citation, multiple items totaling more than $500 were reported stolen from the residence of Danny Ray Johnson, of Loyall, on April 23.

Turner was allegedly found at the residence where the stolen property was discovered.

The officer also reported Irvin and Gilbert to be at the residence. The two were allegedly found lying in a bed together, with a red container, three syringes, multiple baggies with white residue believed to be methamphetamine, a razor blade and a lid from a soda bottle.

Irvin and Gilbert were both charged with receiving stolen property (under $10,000), first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Turner was charged with receiving stolen property (under $10,000) and contempt of court.

The three were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center, Irvin and Gilbert both with $2,000 full cash bonds and Turner with a total of $1,500 full cash bond.

In other police activity:

• Megan Shepherd, 28, of Baxter, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Office deputies on April 15. She was charged with first-degree trafficking of controlled substance (less than 2 grams methamphetamine). She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center;

• Richard Grogan, 29, of Lexington, was arrested by Cumberland Police Department officers on April 15. He was charged as a fugitive from another state (warrant required) for failure to appear, first-degree possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 full cash bond and $7,000 time-served bond;

• Austin Gray, 18, of Harlan, was arrested by Harlan City Police Department officers on April 14. He was charged with second-degree robbery and was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond with 10 percent bail credit;

• Josh Lee, 21, of Harlan, was arrested by Harlan City Police Department officers on April 17. He was charged with failure to appear, trafficking controlled substance, possession of marijuana and contempt of court. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $500 full cash bond and $10,000 bond with 10 percent bail credit;

• Lonnie Callahan Jr., 24, of Harlan, was arrested by Harlan City Police Department officers on April 17. He was charged with trafficking controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $1,000 full cash bond;

• Joseph Turner, 28, of Cawood, was arrested by Kentucky State Police troopers on April 25. He was charged with identity theft, theft by unlawful taking (more than $500 but under $10,000) and failure to appear. He was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center with no bond set.
