Boggs, Clark lead Dodgers past Braves

The Benham Lodge Dodgers ran their record to 2-0 with an 11-8 win over the Lynch Church of God Braves in Tri-City Little League action on Friday.

Kaden Boggs led the Dodgers’ offense with a triple and single. Elijah Creech had a double and single. Christian Teaster, Liam Garland and Carson Clark added two singles each. Tristen Saunders and Mason Baldwin added one single each.

Saunders struck out nine and allowed nine hits. Clark gave up one run and no hits while striking out five.

James-Ryan Howard led the Braves with a double and two singles. Josh Duckworth and Hayden Cornett singled twice each. Jackson Deal and Landon Boggs added one single each.

Deal gave up seven runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. Duckworth allowed four runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

Cassim powers Dragons past Cumberland

Harlan claimed a 15-13 win over Cumberland in a middle school game dominated by walks on both sides.

Will Cassim had two singles and three runs scored to lead the Dragons. Brody Owens added a single with two RBI and two runs scored. Jared Moore contributed a double.

West pitched three innings, striking out five and walking three. Moore pitched three innings with four strikeouts and five walks.

Patrick Mandrell led the Redskins with four singles. Liam Garland had a double and two singles. Shawn Carroll added a triple. Kaden Boggs had a single.

Carroll struck out 10 and walked 14 as he pitched for the Redskins.

Maggard pitches 3-hitter against Harlan

Rylie Maggard pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts and nine walks as New Harlan defeated Harlan 17-12 in middle school softball action.

Abbi Fields led the Lady Patriots at the plate with a double and single. Haley Austin had two singles. Maggard, Olivia Peterson and Haley Mabes added one single each.

Garland, Thomas and Jones led Harlan with one single each.

Thomas pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and eight walks.

Maggard and Austin each had hits as New Harlan fell 7-4 to Pineville.

Maggard struck out six and walked five while giving up two hits.

Kelly leads Patriots to victory over Harlan

New Harlan overcame an early 2-0 deficit and rallied for a 7-2 win Monday over visiting Harlan in middle school baseball action.

Isaac Kelly led the New Harlan offense, driving in two runs with a double and single. Daven Johnson singled twice. Ethan Griffith had a double. Colby Johnson, Carter Howard, Caleb Brewer and Samuel Henson added singles.

Henson pitched three no-hit innings with two strikeouts and four walks. Colby Johnson struck out five and walked two in three innings.

Donovan Montanaro had a single for the Dragons.

Tristan West pitched a complete game for Harlan, giving up seven runs (two earned) on seven hits with two strikeouts and four walks.

Kelly pounded out a triple and double in New Harlan’s 10-6 win over Jenkins on Friday. Howard singled twice. Henson had a double. Colby Johnson added a single.

Thomas Jordan pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts and six walks

Jordan Addington pitched for the Cavaliers, striking out 10 and walking five. Noah Richie had a triple. Devan Wolfard added a double. Greg Bosseman and Coby Morgan contributed singles.
