Local music students receive awards

Michael Lindsey was recently awarded a Statue of Johann Sebastian Bach, as a reward for memorization of 250 measures of music. Michael is pictured with his apprenticed piano teacher, Adeline Allison. Michael attends lessons at the Studio of Piano Fine Arts in Harlan. He is the son of Michael and Anne Lindsey, and is in the third grade at Harlan Elementary School.
Andrew Alred was recently awarded a statue of Johann Sebastian Bach, as a reward for memorization of 250 measures of music. Andrew is a student of Ryland Pope at the Studio of Piano Fine Arts in Harlan. Andrew, the son of Matthew and Erin Alred, is 5 years old and in K-4 at Sunshine School.
Julianna Damaa was recently awarded a Bronze Medal for her memorization of 500 measures of music. Julianna is a student of Ryland Pope at the Studio of Piano Fine Arts in Harlan. She is the daughter of Georges and Jamiel Damaa, of Harlan, and is in the third grade at Harlan Elementary School.
Alyssa Sherman was recently awarded a statue of Johann Sebastian Bach, as a reward for memorization of 250 measures of music. Alyssa is a violin student of Clara Atkins-Pope at the Studio of Piano Fine Arts in Harlan. Alyssa is the daughter of Scott and Deanna Sherman, and is in the fourth grade at Cumberland Elementary School.
Adeline Allison is a blossoming pianist with a determined attitude about practice and the discipline of studying music. Adeline is a piano student at the Studio of Piano Fine Arts, and studies with Clara Atkins-Pope. She has recently auditioned for the first and second rounds of Governor’s School for the Arts, with piano as her performance instrument. Adeline’s love of music extends beyond the keyboard into the realms of percussion instruments, including the Marimba and wind instruments such as the saxophone. Adeline in the daughter of Mike and Cindy Allison, and is a sophomore at Harlan High School.
