Lady Skins coast past Middlesboro, New Harlan
Cumberland rolled to a pair of victories in middle school softball action on Friday at the James A. Cawood field, defeating Middlesboro 16-6 and New Harlan 23-6, improving to 3-1 on the season.
Halle Raleigh had an inside-the-park homer and two singles in the win over Middlesboro. Jade Burton and Alexis Sergent added two singles each. Lola Maggard, Kayle Duckworth and Katelyn Rogers added one single each.
Rogers earned the win on the mound.
Bruce had two singles for Middlesboro and Lawson added one.
Rogers pounded out two inside-the-park homers, along with a triple and two singles in the victory over New Harlan. Burton added an inside-the-park homer, along with a double and two singles. Raleigh added four singles. Sergent contributed two triples and a single. Maggard had three singles. Harley Keith and Jayanna Sellers added two singles each. Duckworth had one single.
Maggard was the winning pitcher.
