Career options students in Robin Sanders’ class at Harlan County High School led the HCHS College Fair at the school earlier this month. All juniors and seniors at HCHS walked through the atrium at the school where presenters included Taylor Chiropractic (Dr. John Dudley Hilton), the University of Pikeville, Army National Guard, Alice Lloyd, Lindsey Wilson, Morehead State University, HCHS Gear Up, Marine Corps, University of the Cumberlands, Union College, Lincoln Memorial University, Choice MD and Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical School.
“I think our first college fair was a huge success,” Sanders said. “We plan to make our next one an even bigger event and include sophomore students, as well.”
“I’m glad the college I plan to attend this fall was there,” said HCHS student Abby Middleton. “I got to ask more questions in person and get the information I need.”
“The Harlan County High School College Fair was a great opportunity to view many educational options for my future. I really enjoyed it and hope it continues for future students,” added Luke Parker.
