Intermittent lane closures set for US 119 in Harlan Co.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that intermittent lane closures have begun on U.S. 119 (milepoints 17.0-39.068) and is expected to conclude Oct. 1.
The intermittent lane closures will be in place with one, 12-foot lane remaining open. Motorists should expect to encounter flaggers and/or temporary traffic signals. The intermittent lane closures are necessary due to contractors performing expansion joint repairs, and preventative maintenance operations on each of the 25 bridges along U.S. 119.
The 25 bridges are located at the following milepoints on U.S. 119: 17.629, 18.842, 21.827, 22.416, 23.491, 23.704, 25.303, 25.482, 27.217, 27.654, 28.394, 28.769, 29.751, 31.152, 31.892, 33.325, 33.725, 34.846, 35.611, 37.269, 37.521, 37.801, 38.089, 38.439, and 39.068.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect long delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
