Green Dragons shoot past Menifee County

Harlan had no trouble shooting a lot of 3-pointers in just about every game this season. The Dragons have started making them at an impressive pace of late, including 12 on Thursday in a 77-46 rout of Menifee County in the first round of the Buckhorn Lake Christmas Classic.
Junior center Jon Eldridge continued his recent surge with a game-high 21 points. Senior guard Kilian Ledford hit five 3-pointers in a 17-point performance. Jordan Akal added three 3-pointers as he scored 14. Jared Hawkins added 10 points with two 3-pointers.
“Defensively, we played a good game. I thought we also did a good job of limiting them to one shot, which has been an issue for us this season,” Harlan coach Derrick Akal said. “Jon has been a load down low the last few games on the boards and its afforded us more opportunities to score.”
Travis Trimble, a senior, scored 13 to lead the 4-9 Wildcats. Dalton Martin, a junior, added 11 points.
The 8-5 Green Dragons will play Jackson City in the semifinals on Friday.
