Boys Choir, Musettes participate in SKMA All-Festival Choir

Six students from the Harlan Independent School participated in the 68th annual Southeastern Kentucky Music Association’s All-Festival Choir in London with 21 schools were representing in the three-day choral festival.
The SATB Choir was directed by Jerry Wright, who recently retired from the position of minister of music at London First Baptist Church. He is currently the director of the Southeast Kentucky Community Chorus and a board member of the London Community Orchestra. Marilyn Schraeder, choral director at Harlan Independent School, was the accompanist. Schraeder has accompanied the SATB Choir for 47 years.
Musette members participating in the SATB Choir were Abigail Baker and Megan Pacholewski. Boys Choir members were Kyle Allison, Jon Lewis, Shane Lindsey and David VanWinkle.
