A Rosspoint man is facing multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, after allegedly having the drug in his residence while on house arrest.

Edward Bledsoe Jr., 47, was arrested on Monday by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Office of Probation and Parole on a home visit at a residence in the Rosspoint community. Bledsoe was on parole and on house arrest due to a recent drug trafficking arrest. While in the residence, Sheriff Leslie Smith along with Harlan County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Harlan County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives and Probation and Parole officers discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine, a large quantity of Ziploc baggies and two digital scales. Much of the methamphetamine appeared to be packaged for resale and has an estimated street value of over $7,000.

Bledsoe was charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bledsoe was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.

In other police activity, Andrew T. Patrick, 21, of Wallins, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Saylor on Monday.

According to a press release, a traffic stop was conducted in the Harlan area on Monday by Saylor. Through further investigation, six plastic bags of what is believed to be marijuana, four Xanax pills and a small amount of suspected cocaine was located.

Patrick was charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), trafficking in synthetic drugs, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Patrick was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
