Cats survive close calls, win tourney

Rosspoint defeated three opponents to capture the seventh- and eighth- grade division of the Black Bears Grade School Tournament on Saturday at Harlan County High School.

Thomas Jordan scored 14 points to lead Rosspoint over James A. Cawood 37-34 in the championship.

Cameron Lester led the Trojans with 17 points. Nathan Daniels added 10.

Jordan scored 18 points as Rosspoint edged Cawood 47-45 in the semifinals.

Adam Boggs scored 15 and Jeremiah Clem added 12 for the Comets.

JACES advanced with a 49-37 win over Cumberland as Lester poured in 28 points for the Trojans.

Jaedyn Gist led the Redskins with 13 points.
