Brandon Day, a senior at Harlan High School, has been named the Monticello Banking Company Student Citizen Award recipient for September. Here, Kevin Cavins, representing the bank, presents a $100 honorarium and the award to Dixon. Monticello Banking Company is dedicated to this recognition program to honor outstanding students in the Harlan County and Harlan Independent school districts. Faculty and administrators from each district nominate students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership, sports and community participation. Day is a member of the football team and worked recently to assist with hurricane relief. He has received all SEKC and all District honors for football. He is considering a career in education. He is the son of Ray and Tera Day.

Monticello Banking Company is dedicated to this recognition program to honor outstanding students in the Harlan County and Harlan Independent school districts. Faculty and administrators from each district nominate students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership, sports and community participation. Napier is the daughter of Kathy and Luke Minor and the late Scott Napier. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Link Crew, First Priority, Talent Search and the basketball team. She plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University and pursue a career in physical therapy.
