Fun at the pumpkin patch

Megan Saylor’s kindergarten class at Cumberland Elementary School participated in a pumpkin investigation.

After visiting a pumpkin patch on a field trip, students in Megan Saylor’s class at Cumberland Elementary School measured their class pumpkin to see how many cubes tall it was, counted and compared numbers of seeds and helped clean out the pumpkin.

Students in Megan Saylor’s class at Cumberland Elementary School also made predictions if the pumpkin would sink or float then put their predictions to the test and found out pumpkins float

Wallins Elementary School third grade classes recently visited Oakes Farm.

A retired teacher from the farm gave a mini lesson to Wallins students about planting seeds and how they grow during.

Kindergarten students at Cumberland Elementary School visited Hillview Stables Pumpkin Patch on Oct. 3.

Students also navigated through a corn maze, fed and pet animals, travel through a hay bale tunnel and picnic with horses.
