The Allied Health programs at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College (SKCTC) prepare their graduates for success. Their recent board examination pass rates reflect this achievement. Medical Assisting, Surgical Technology, and the Respiratory programs on both the Whitesburg and Pineville campuses all boast 100 percent success rates. In the Physical Therapist Assistant program, 100 percent of graduates who have tested (12 out of 13) have also passed.

According to Mike Good, coordinator for the Respiratory Care program, “Many of our programs consistently have 100% first-time pass rates, while most of our Allied Health and Nursing programs had pass rates above 90 percent this past year.” He credits the faculty and the students for their hard work and focus. “The faculty do a great job preparing these students for their examinations and for the workplace.” Traditionally, he says, these programs also have had great success in job placement.
