Life-saving life skills at HCHS
Students in the two life skills classes at Harlan County High School participated in a CPR class Monday led by Harlan County School District health coordinator Christy Whitaker. Students can become certified if they complete all three classes held during the trimester.
The CPR class is part of the curriculum for the life skills classes at HCHS. Students also learn about careers, including writing cover letters and resumes, as well as handling themelves professionally in interviews. Preparing for college, beginning with the process of gaining acceptance at a school of their choice, is also part of the course. Financial matters are also dealt with, beginning with learning to write checks and balance checkbooks.
